PROJECT / PLASTIC PROBLEMS

3D Printing

Some people buy the part. I measure it, model it, print it for nine hours, find the one stupid problem, and make V5.

The printer is less a hobby than a machine for turning very specific annoyances into slightly warm plastic.

THE LOOP

Measure. Print. Learn something annoying.

01MEASURE

twice, preferably

02DESIGN

make the geometry behave

03SLICE

argue with supports

04PRINT

wait an unreasonable amount of time

05FAIL

find the one corner that hates me

06REVISE

emotionally rename the file

REVISION HISTORY / EMOTIONAL

V1LEARNING

Correct idea. Optimistic relationship with tolerances.

V4GOOD

The first version that started feeling like a system.

V6NOPE

Changed too much. Immediate return to the useful baseline.

NEXTALWAYS

Cable paths, locks, airflow, and the tiny thing I notice after printing.

FIELD NOTES

The pile of failed plastic is basically documentation.

PROJECT DNA

The part the README would leave out.

ORIGINA part I wanted did not exist.
ESCALATIONCAD became a personality trait.
BAD DECISIONSNine-hour prints before certainty.
CURRENT STATEMeasure. Print. Revise.

CONNECTED SYSTEMS

Eventually the plastic ends up holding computers.
